Keswick railway station, Adelaide

Transit Stop, Adelaide, SA, Australia

Keswick railway station was a station on the Belair, Noarlunga Centre and Tonsley railway lines, and was located in the inner western Adelaide suburb of Keswick. It was located by railway from the Adelaide Railway Station. This was the only station in the Adelaide suburban system without wheelchair access, the steep terrain and sparse patronage being prohibitive.Keswick railway station was demolished in March 2013 during the closure of the Noarlunga/Seaford and Tonsley lines, in preparation for the electrification of those lines.Adelaide Parklands Terminal is located adjacent to this station and is accessible via a footpath. It services Great Southern Railway trains to Melbourne, Sydney and Perth,.A new Adelaide Showground station south of Greenhill Road and Anzac Highway, opened on 17 February 2014, replaced Keswick (as well as the annual temporary Showground Central station).References and notes http://www.infrastructure.sa.gov.au/RR
